As part of CLAP (Spring 2006), Joseph took a literature course that compares movies and books. His first comparison was the story and movie of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. He wrote an essay about the music from the movie. For his final report he wrote an essay on friendship from Charlot's Web.

In 2006, he wrote about his goals for his life.

In January 2007, Joseph did a research paper on the Aztecs.
